"For the Lord said “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst."-John 6:35
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, (previously known as Eucharistic Ministers), are lay persons who assist the priest by distributing the consecrated bread and wine during Holy Communion. Additionally, many Eucharistic Ministers also bring Communion to the sick and homebound to those who are ill, or otherwise unable to attend the church service.
Being a Eucharistic Minister, is an important way to serve the Church. They are called not only to minister the Body and Blood of Christ, but to have and maintain a strong faith, a sense of awe, and an inclusiveness of others as the foundation for their ministry.
Each encounter with someone receiving the Eucharist is a very rewarding experience which both the receiver and the Minister benefit from. They both receive the healing presence of God in their life and in the moment, a very special bond is formed in faith, hope and love. We are experiencing a shortage of ministers and are looking for people to take on this critical role during Mass. Please consider being part of this ministry. Or if you have been a Eucharistic Minister in the past, please consider coming back to serve once again.
